Coronation Rapier Marshal's Meeting Results
I pass this message on to the populace on behalf of Baron Alejandro Mateo Ramirez y Mendoza
--- Aodhfionn ua Diarmuid
Hola, mi hermanos de espada!
There was a brief rapier marshal's meeting at Coronation. It was summed up as follows:
Everyone, from this point forward, should begin hitting lighter and taking lighter. This includes training of new fighters, old fighters, marshals, white scarves, everybody. There are a few disturbing signs of a trend in rhino-hiding, and we want to nip this in the bud before it gets bad. So please, take lighter! Remember, positive pressure in line with the blade is all it takes.
Secondly, the old "four jabs in the ground with a broken foil" test for armor is in the early stages of being phased out. There is a tentative plan for using a new type of standard tester that can be built mostly using parts from your local Home Depot. More news on that as it develops.
Tertiary, baldar blunts and thistle missiles are now ILLEGAL for use when combining combat archery with rapier. This is from the Society Rapier Marshal and Society Archery Marshal. No if's, ands, or buts. However, on the upside, I have been having discussions with the inestimable and wonderful Sir Tnek, Atlantia's Combat Archery Marshal to allow combat archers to take the rapier field using rubber band guns, and nothing else. Think musketeer squadrons! Firing lines! It's not official yet, but guidelines are being worked on. I highly suggest you go and introduce yourself to your local archery marshal.
Last, but not least, the youth fighting program for both rigid and rapier fighting is on the fast track. If you plan to get involved with this, I suggest you contact Madmoiselle Gisele l'Orpheline post-haste. I will be happy to answer any questions that I can.
I stand ready to serve!
